Description

Like Running?  Love Wine?  This race is for you! 

Join us on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 for an exciting event that features the scenic views of Spencer Farm Winery and did we mention great Wine! Be sure to check out the locally grown fruits, meats, and products at Spencer Berry Farm before or after the race!  https://spencerberryfarm.com/products We are offering staggering start times from 8:00am to 10:00am to allow for social distancing. This race is timed and scored by J3 Timing.  Results will be posted at www.J3Timing.com

Registration includes: A race t-shirt, souvenir wine glass, finisher medal and a glass of wine for runners 21 and older. Runners under 21 are welcome to participate and will receive a discounted registration during check out that includes a shirt, medal and bib (these participants will not receive a wine glass or a glass of wine).

Awards:  All runners get a sweet finisher medal!!  We will live results broken down into overall and age group format for you to view, but we do not award age group winners for this event because everyone wins at a wine run!

SOCIAL DISTANCING UPDATE:   This race will feature the following guidelines to ensure safety for participants, volunteers, and event staff

  • Extended Packet Pickup Hours, Group packet pickup and shipping to your home address available.
  • Open Start Line (race will not start as a group, your chip time starts when you start the race)
  • Wave Starts (start times extended from 9-10am)
  • Open Area - start line and race staging will be spread out to maximize social distancing
  • Results - posted online only, all participants receive finisher medals (no age group ceremony)
  • Post Race Party - wine tickets are good any time throughout the weekend to reduce group size at the Winery
  • Free Transfer to Virtual Race -  If conditions change, or you change your mind, we will ship your packet and swag to your address
  • Social Distancing/Mask Wearing - participants will be required to follow the local health mandates in place at the time and location of the event but will not be required to wear a mask while running/walking.  Our pre-race email will have reminders of current guidelines and our announcer will encourage these guidelines at the event as well.

FAQ's

  • Is the race only for 21+? No, minors are welcome to participate and receive a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal and bib (these participants will not receive a wine glass or a glass of wine).
  • Are strollers allowed? You are welcome to use a stroller for this event but it is not recommended due to uneven ground on the course and children in strollers can participate for free and do not need to register.
  • Is walking allowed? Yes
  • Is the race dog friendly? Yes, but please make sure you dog is on a leash.

PLEASE NOTE:  THIS COURSE WILL BE RELATIVELY FLAT, BUT MUCH OF THE COURSE IS ON GRASS, SO THE TERRAIN IS MORE OF A CROSS COUNTRY STYLE COURSE RATHER THAN A ROAD RACE.

LOOK CONFUSING?  Don't worry!  There will be an incredible amount of cones and arrows on the course, so just follow the yellow arrows and you'll be wine!

Packet Pickup

Packet Pickup: Packet pick-up will be at the winery Friday, June 18th from 4-6pm and it will also be available on race day beginning 1 hour before the race starts. 

**Update: Anyone who attends Packet Pickup on Friday night will receive a free Wine Run 5k Drawstring Bag!

Want to avoid the lines entirely? You can choose to have your swag items shipped to your home prior to the race for only $10 per person. Shipping to your home address is available until 6/6/21.

Live Music and Locally Grown Produce

Spencer Farm Winery will have live concerts on 6/18 and 6/19!

6/18/21: Steve Fulton Live in Concert from 6:30pm to 9:30pm - Steve Fulton is a singer songwriter currently living in Indianapolis, Indiana. Steve draws inspiration from a multitude of artists ranging from Tom Petty and Bob Dylan to Beck, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. Steve recorded his first solo album, "How to Kill The Common Man" in 2013 and has begun work on a new album Set to be released in the fall of 2020.

6/19/21: The Ackermans Live in Concert from 6:30pm to 9:30pm - Indianapolis duo David and Pamela Ackerman bring stellar vocals and riveting harmonies to every show. Their brand of “acoustic feel-good music” covers the 60s – today, including songs by The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, The Eagles, Train, Rob Thomas, and Jason Mraz.
